An industrial estate can assess shared-infrastructure maintenance by defining the asset owner, affected parties and acceptance responsibility for each intervention. This is a proposed Unity Maintain fit assessment for common roads, utilities and facilities, not a verified deployment or a manufacturing-control claim.
Trimble’s documented foundation covers facilities and infrastructure asset management. Applying that foundation to an industrial estate requires validating the specific workflow and interfaces. Maintain asset-management overview.
Create a shared-service work card
| Proposed entry | Decision it supports |
|---|---|
| Shared asset identity | Which maintained asset belongs to the common estate? |
| Responsibility boundary | Where does tenant-owned equipment begin? |
| Affected parties | Who needs coordination before work proceeds? |
| Work dependency | Which agreed access or operational window is required? |
| Acceptance owner | Who verifies the estate’s completed scope? |
| Remaining obligations | Which tenant or contractor follow-ups remain separate? |
The card records coordination requirements. It is not a production shutdown procedure or a contractual interpretation.
Worked example: a common pumping asset
In a hypothetical estate, one shared pumping asset serves two tenant areas. Maintenance is proposed on the common asset, while each tenant remains responsible for equipment within its own boundary. The estate team records the shared scope and the parties whose coordination is required.
If one tenant confirms an access window and the other has not, the task should not appear universally ready. Record the unresolved dependency and its owner. The responsible operating teams decide whether and how work can proceed under their approved procedures.
After the common work is accepted, keep any tenant-side follow-up distinct. A single completed estate work order should not imply that all tenant equipment was inspected or that production operations were restored.
Recognise the system boundary
Manufacturing execution, process control and tenant billing are different requirements. Do not infer them from the ability to maintain mapped infrastructure. If an external system holds a required approval or operational reference, define the link and its owner, then demonstrate it or document a manual handoff.
Use stable asset IDs across Arabic and English records. Translate service and responsibility labels without changing the underlying ownership meaning.
Decide whether to expand
A useful pilot lets a reviewer identify the common asset, trace all outstanding coordination decisions and distinguish estate acceptance from tenant follow-up. If ownership is still disputed, settle the business decision before automating assignments.
Read the service-request and work-order guide to keep reported needs and accepted work outcomes separate.
